High performance is the expectation.

Most physicians master the demands of medicine.
Few are ever taught how to sustain themselves inside them.

Sustainability

is the skill.

PROFESSIONAL DURABILITY™ FOR PHYSICIANS

This cohort was created to address that gap.

Most programs center on coping after the damage is already done.

Professional Durability™ focuses on building the internal foundation to sustain a meaningful, high-performing career over time.

And unlike generic wellness programs, this work is led by someone who understands the realities of clinical medicine.

Laura Hays, MD, FACEP
Emergency Physician | Physician Coach

I know what it's like to keep showing up at full capacity when you're running on empty.

I've spent almost two decades in emergency medicine - including serving as medical director and chair during the COVID pandemic, and multiple hospital contract negotiations, while raising two young kids at home.

From the outside, I was performing. On the inside, I knew it wasn't sustainable.

That's what brought me to this work. I wanted to understand how physicians could do meaningful work at a high level, and still have something left for themselves and the people they love.

I trained through the Healthcare Coaching Institute, an ICF-accredited program, and now coach physicians and other professionals who are good at their jobs and want to keep it that way.

Professional Durability™ is the program I wish had existed when I needed it most.

about your coach

What is group coaching and how does it work?
It's not therapy, and it's not a lecture series. It's a structured, skills-based experience where a small group of physicians works through real challenges together, guided by a coach who's been in your shoes. The group format is intentional: there's something powerful about being in a room with peers who actually get it.
Is this confidential?
Yes. What's shared in the cohort stays in the cohort. The group agreement around confidentiality is established in the first session.
Will this show up anywhere professionally?
No. This is a private coaching program with no affiliation to your employer, hospital system, or any licensing body.
Is there CME credit?
Not at this time. That is something we are actively exploring for future cohorts.
Can I attend a mix of afternoon and evening sessions?
No.  The cohorts are intentionally small to encourage a sense of community.  You may join EITHER the afternoon OR evening cohort.
What if I miss a session?
Sessions are recorded. If you miss one, you'll have access to the recording so you don't fall behind.
Is this covered by my employer or hospital system?
Some participants have used CME funds, professional development budgets, or HSA accounts to cover the cost.
